Former President George H. W. Bush is apparently urging his son, Jeb, to run for President in 2012 or Florida US Senate in 2010.

How would Jeb do in the 2012 Primaries?  General?  Would he get "Bush-whacked" or would he stand a chance.

He'd have to live down the reputation of his infamous brother.

All of these pieces would have had to be in place for a Jeb Bush presidency, no Democratic sweep in 2006, Republicans hold on the House for the forseeable future at least until 2010. The Senate was a lost cause by 2006, no Katherine Harris and no Supreme Crt sealing the presidency for GW. He would of had to win the presidency outright. Barring those things the Jeb presidency was only a pipe dream.

I don't think that people could elect a Bush with the unpopularity of the former president, even after four years.

I think the United States is done with the Bushes.  They were both pretty lousy Presidents (ok, one was kinda okay I guess and the other was just awful).

President Jeb Bush: Because two President Bushes at the bottom of the list for job creation since Hoover isn't enough.
