North Indian non-vegetarian food is good but South Indian food in general just sucks. Since I mostly eat the latter, I'll vote HC.

And my American taste buds can't handle East Indian food without ridiculous amounts of water, so...

Its acceptance of democracy and capitalism is definitely a plus. While there are still extremely terrible places and beliefs deeply ingrained in certain regions, they will progress. FC.

Hmm now what did you have that you consider to be east Indian food? I think north Indian food and especially south Indian food is much spicier. Oh and south Indian food does not suck.

I would list the dishes I hate but I don't know how to spell them/don't know if what I know them as is in a local/regional language/dialect. But I think we can all agree that naan cooked in a Tandori Oven is far superior to the chapati and roti crap South Indians seem to love.

The negatives of India are outweighed by it's diversity, unique culture, and stunning sites like the Taj Mahal. It's also the world's largest democracy and it might not be perfect, but it remains much freer than many other similar countries.

It's already quite dumb to base a HC vote solely on "their current leaders suck". But to base a HC vote on local food shows how truly ignorant you are.

Especially when the food is actually very nice!

Indian food is good and people who whine about it being spicy are babies.

Yes Andhra food can get a bit spicy but I LOVE it. And as lewis pointed out it is south Indian and not east. When you say east India I think you are talking smack about my land, Bengal. Tongue And I agree naan is better than roti but you have to realize that people all over India eat roti over naan. Naan is mostly restaurant food.

Does that have something to do with the cost of production, I wonder? -_-

It has a lot to do with it....and also the fact that most people don't have a tandoor in their house. Smiley

Well, when I refer to "South Indians," I'm actually referring to wealthy South Indian born-Americans. And the lack of a Tandoor oven isn't much of an excuse, since [in the United States] one can buy Roghani Naan (which obviously isn't as good as the restaurant stuff) which can be cooked on a stove. Yet, anecdotally, they seem eat roti and chapati far more than they do naan.  Creatures of habit, I suppose Tongue

One of my favorite foods is just some plain roti with some plain dal. Hella old school. I guess roti is just much more traditional than naan.
