So, I was doing door-to-door for the candidate whose campaign I'm managing, and I met his daugter for the first time.  He introduced my as Mr. Inks.  I've never been introduced like that before (and I've never done work at like a kids camp or anything like that because I hate kids - they're the root of all evil in this world).  I felt old.  I never want to be called "Mr. Inks" again.  Tongue

You don't understand what it is like to feel old if that's what does it.

You're not old, you're an adult.  You will be for (hopefully) most of your life.  Enjoy being Mr. Inks.  There are plenty of things that are actually painfull that will remind you you're old, wait for them to start happening before you start freaking out over being old.

Adding a "Mr." (or Sir, or Dr. or Rev. or Sgt. or Airman or whatever) before your last name doesn't make you old, it makes you an adult.  Not a child.  Not a kid.

I'd definitely feel old if people referred to me as that.  I have a particularly strong aversion to giving people titles.  I think it's just the way things are here.  Parents of friends were never "Mr. or Mrs." it was just always their first name.

I suspect that's more regional than the norm, though.

You hate kids?

That explains your PM score, I suppose...

Well yeah, titles suck if you know the person well.  But if a person has a title, you should use it until they tell you not to or you've been working together for awhile.  Especially if you're a subordinate.

I only hate the misbehaving ones (95% of them).
