It's pretty soft, but they'll have no choice but to be more firm tomorrow when this totally blows up.

They quote William Flynn, a forensic document specialist with 35 years of experience in police crime labs and private practice, as one of the experts who debunked its authenticity.

I want the NYT to blare their headline saying they were fooled like CBS because of their liberal blind partisanship.

"According to the Associated Press, the White House distributed the four memos dated from 1972 and 1973 after obtaining them from CBS News. The White House did not question their accuracy."

Is this the same AP that said that Bush did nothing when the crowd "booed" when they learned of Clinton's heart attack?

Wait a second ... her husband died in 1984.  But she says he considered Bush "an excellent pilot".  I wonder if she would share her husband's opinion on 3 or 4 other random pilots who served under his command throughout his extensive career.

Sorry but it just strikes me as highly unlikely that he would specifically comment on a pilot who was one of many.

I don't know, Wakie.  He knew Bush was the son of then Congressman G.H.W. Bush, so he would have stuck out more than any other.  And before he died, Bush had returned to Texas and was an active public figure for his company.  Killian could have easily made comments regarding Bush due to his presence.

It is possible, but I would say still highly unlikely.  Congressmen are really a dime a dozen (especially in Texas which has 20+ of them).  Also weren't the sons of John Connelly and Lloyd Bentsen also in this unit?  And Arbusto wasn't exactly a high profile company.

Ah well, he very well may have made these comments.  I just find it kinda random.

At any rate, I really don't care if Bush is a bad pilot or if he was derelict in his duty.  I'm more concerned with his performance as President (which I perceive to be extremely poor).
