After a long, hard struggle, the more conservative judges got FDR booted off the island. They cited his nanny-statism & getting us into a war as main reasons for this decision. This was also helped by the left-wing leaders going a bridge too far & attacking George H.W. Bush.

Now, with 22 men left, it's your choice as to who stays, & who goes. Be aware that over 1/3 of the Presidents have now been eliminated. Now with numbers denoting the order in which they were voted off, per Torie's suggestion.

I changed more rules regarding tiebreakers in order to avoid future confusion. The changed content in the rules is still bolded. The rest is still DanimalBR's work.

I also changed a few of the following rules to make it easier for me.

To add, if I'm not online & the next topic is not open yet at or soon after midnight, Xahar, or anyone else of my choosing, can open the next one. If he's not available either, & it opens more than six hours late, the deadline will be pushed back a day to give everyone a fair chance to vote. Per the rules, this will close at the end of the day of Saturday, August 23th, 2008.

I find it odd that we voted off W.H. Harrision but not the other president who served less than one year in office - Garfield.

I cannot under any circumstances vote against Nixon, so I'll vote to kick off Lincoln.

You do realize we're halfway through now.  I recognize Nixon's positives as well as his negatives, and feel that midway though the list is more than reasonable.

That was my thinking as well.  I'm actually kind of shocked he's lasted this long considering the pool of voters.  I guess Reagan has become the new Nixon.  How many people reading this even remember the Nixon Presidency?  1, maybe 2?  I was born like two months before he resigned and I'm one of the older ones here.

I'm aware of that. Though Nixon had big negatives in Cambodia & Watergate, he also had big positives in the Endangered Species Act & opening up China. I just don't think it does his record service to have everyone pile on him, even though it's nice that he made it this far.

He hates overreaching government. Wink It's funny though, because in terms of outlook at least, NDN seems to be just as right-libertarian as DWTL. His PM scores don't seem to suggest that, however.
