I think his target audience career-wise has become young people.  Isn't he a frequent guest on the Colbert Report?  Kind of unusual for a country music star, eh?

Especially when you consider that he wrote all those disgusting war-monger songs (only a few years ago).

He's always been a Democrat. Just a conservative one basically. Theoretically you would've thought that would've made him back Hillary though.

My cynical suspicion is that he is just doing this for publicity and popularity among people who might buy his compact discs.  I don't think he actually cares about the difference between Democratic and Republican and honestly is just patriotic.  I think he actually likes Obama.  But he probably likes McCain a fair bit as well.  I really doubt Keith has an informed opinion on foreign policy, let alone anything else.

Democrats will most likely welcome his support since it comes from an unlikely source.

He sort of did bring up Obama unprompted in the article.  I suspect if his movie interview gets headlines, he will rake in more dough.  He seems like a nice enough guy, I don't dislike him.  But he probably can't name his two senators.   He's just attempting to market himself and his movie creatively.

Hey, at least we know he isn't racist, right?  Am I right?

Yes, I actually knew that before reading this article, strangely enough. I always assumed he was a Zell Miller "Democrat" though.

I don't think he WANTS to name his two Senators... Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn.

Our 5:00 AM Morning News on NBC has just announced that Toby Keith will indeed vote for Barack Obama.

"The best Democratic candidate we've had since Bill Clinton", he said. So he liked slick Willie better than Obama? Meh. Not my type of Democrat.
