Again, I'd probably refuse to vote.

I'd go for Rockefeller just because I don't think that he would be as much of a socialist as Johnson was. Like 1960 though, I couldn't really care about who won this election.

I like how if you just read the posts, you'd think it's a Rockefeller landslide, but in reality, the vote is quite close.

A brave soul. Wink

Why is it that you support him (pardon me if you already expressed this in the Primary thread, I'm too lazy to check it myself)?

I'm assuming because of Great Society.

Yes, the Great Society. No Rockefeller would ever do something like that.

Wouldn't you be embarrassed to admit voting for Johnson?

I would. Looks like Rockefeller is picking up steam, though.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Great Society, though given your Economic PM score, I'd be surprised if you weren't. Wink

How exactly is Rockefeller's foreign policy different from LBJ's?  He wasn't an isolationist, if I remember correctly.

Rocky because of better foriegn policy, more social liberal and probably, in the long run, as good as LBJ with economic policy.

Governor Nelson Rockefeller (R)

If this Johnson/Rockefeller matchup was the RL 1964 Presidential Election instead of Johnson/Goldwater, Governor Rockefeller wouldn't be leading 61-38 over President Johnson. Let alone would Governor Rockefeller ever be in a position to actually defeat President Johnson in RL 1964.

Rockefeller, so the events of 1968 wouldn't happen and Vietnam might have ended sooner

But only with hindsight. At the time I would have strongly supported Johnson.
