I have my first job interview since returning from Atlanta last Saturday.  The interview is tomorrow morning at 10:30 CT for an e-commerce firm in NW Oklahoma City.  My job will be to develop and maintain the web sites for one of their clients.  The pay looks very good for a starting job.  I haven't asked about benefits, yet, but I figure they will come when they come.

Things I don't like about job interviews:

The questions, "What are your best qualities?"

And, "What are your worst qualities?"

How does someone answer that last one?

Some people you have to watch though.  I had one bitch who asked me "What motivates me to get up in the morning?"  Uhhh.. WOW.

First, good luck.

Things I don't like about job interviews:

The questions, "What are your best qualities?"

And, "What are your worst qualities?"

How does someone answer that last one?

Worst qualities are, "I try to be a perfectionist," "I get annoyed when all the details aren't perfect," "I over plan everything."

Some people you have to watch though.  I had one bitch who asked me "What motivates me to get up in the morning?"  Uhhh.. WOW.

"A sense of duty."  Possibly, "I like looking forward to the challenges I'll be facing."

The interview went very well, but I still have two more interviews with the actual company before I am offered anything.  The first interview should be this next week and the second interview should be the week after that.  If there is an offer to be made, they should know about it by August 1 and I would probably start the week after that.  So, probably less than 3 weeks total between today and starting.

This is a big IT company called Petra Industries based out of Edmond, Oklahoma.

Probably no benefits until early November when I roll onto the company's payroll.

Make sure you demonstrate how skills you've acquired from any other employment or membership in an organization can transfer to the new job.

Very important.
