Sure some of it is a primary bump, but it shouldn't be that big

No way.  First Texas, now North Carolina...things are looking better and better for the Democrats, or worse and worse for the GOP haha!  But seriously, could it be Democratic advertising heavily influencing North Carolina in recent days?  I know thats Sam Spade's pet argument but this time it has one flaw, namely Hagan is not Clinton or Obama.  But there are more people in North Carolina who suddenly remembered they were 'Democrats' during the Primary season maybe?

I don't think Sam's argument is all that flawed.  I imagine Hagan was also running ads while Dole I suspect would not have been.

I think you misunderstand my argument.  It has little to do with whose name is being mentioned.  The point is that when there is heavy campaigning in a state for 6 weeks, there is heavy enthusiasm to your voters, who of course, happen to be Democrats.

Thus, when we get to a poll of likely voters, your voters are more likely than normal to slip through the LV screen.  Add to that the other side is not enthused at all, and you get results like this.

Wow, things really don't look good for the Republicans in congress.

However, Rasmussen hasn't been very accurate with senate polls, and Dole has WAY more appeal than Kay Hagan.  It would be a true upset if Hagan would beat Dole.

Holy sh**t. Holy dumb f**k!!! I'll wait till I freak out, but this is certainly unexpected. Kay Hagan? The Democrats could run a tub of bullsh*t and win in this environment.

Hagan will win, Dole isn't that popular, she really hasn't done anything for NC at all.

I've always liked Kay Hagan. I think she can win it and beat Dole.

No, No. I refuse to accept that Kay freakin' Hagan will win this race. I know Dole hasn't done jack sh*t for NC (even my relatives said that), but I just can't see her losing this race.

Ok let's chill out here.  It's a statistically insignificant advantage, and there's plenty more time.

I seriously doubt Hagan will be able to pull it off from a non-partisan point of view.

I have long thought this race will be closer than most people have expected.  With that being said I don't think we should make too much out of a single poll, even if it comes from a pollster who when off is generally too GOP favorable.

PPP will come out with a poll this coming week for this race. We will see if this is close to being right.

I still think the GOP will hold on to it but they'll have to spend money here now; money that could have been used defending the other 8 gazillion seats they have in danger
