This is very interesting to look in retrospective.

History will surely judge President Bush much better then the current Press does. In reality, he is one of the greatest President's in recent times. In modern times, only Eisenhower has been better then him.

Speaking as a conservative Democrat, I believe my party has been overly harsh on Bush, the angry likely derives from the fact that Bush won the electoral college, even though he lost the popular vote in 2000. Had he won the first election with an outright popular vote majority, the hatred towards him would probably be less severe. We are in hyper-partisan times, which is not good for our nation.

Our nation has gone down the drain for decades, and really only our current President has tried to stop the downfall. No president since Eisenhower has had the intelligence that Bush has.

My three main regrets about President Bush are

1) Overboard on the gay marriage issue. It was likely an issue that he was "forced" to use.
2) He is way to weak on the environment. Like I said, I make texaslefty look like she is way behind times on that issue, and even Al Gore.
3) Not following Sabato's advice in this article. Had he followed the advice, Bush would be sitting extremely popular right now Smiley

I usually have mixed feelings about Sabato, but he was RIGHT ON, in this article.

We have like 8 to 9 months left of George W Bush. I will enjoy it while I can. John McCain will be far far far worse then Bush ever was!
