I don't have a link just yet, but Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen has an interesting idea to help heal the Democratic party and strengthen the nominee against John McCain in the fall.  The idea is to have all the superdelegates meet after the last primaries are over, sometime in mid-June, and vote to agree on a nominee giving whoever the nominee is about 10 weeks to prepare for the convention and heal the party.

He hasn't talked to Sen. Harry Reid or Speaker Nancy Pelosi about it, yet, but he has made it known to CNN.

I think this is a great idea, because as it stands right now, the Democratic nominee would only have 2 months or 9 weeks to get ready for the election.  This plan would give them 4 1/2 months.

I guess we're sticking with the "every piece of political news has to be posted here three times" rule:  Wink

Oops.  Didn't see those, and didn't realize this story has been out there for a few days.  My bad.
