Morristown population: 18,922 (2006 est.)

Donald Cresitello challenged Lautenberg in the 1982 open seat primary, garnering a whole 1.07% to Lautenberg's 25.97% (which was enough to win in a very crowded field).

How odd that there are anti-immigration Democrats in New Jersey of all places.  This Cresitello must be pretty old or at least not young if he was around in 1982.

Isn't Morristown right wing? It appears so from the county. Though this guy sounds like a DINO anyway.

Not at all; it's strongly left-leaning.

Morristown is the most Democratic area of a strongly Republican county.  It's elected Democratic State Senators before, but only under highly unusual circumstances.  There just aren't enough Dems there to dilute the Republicans surrounding it.

63-36 Kerry in 2004.  It's also less than 3 percent of the county.
