An ad that simultaneously makes McCain seem older and more militaristic.

I'm not sure I'd call that "great."

And the clouds are dumb.  They took it to the cutting guys and said, "stick some serene imagery in that" or something?  Same with the piano.  I thought we were going to do a cut-scene to a developmentally disabled kid.

It does manage to highlight some of the traits that present McCain's biggest chance of winning in 2008, though, but in a heavy-handed way.

It was like The Neverending Story or something when we were flying through those clouds. Anywho, I couldn't quite finish it. It was terrible. Terrible ads are not worth my attention.

Perhaps, but that's the point exactly -- there are plenty of Democrats who have switched against McCain because:

1. They want to dislike him because he is the GOP nominee; or,

2. He's the GOP nominee, and they don't want to like the GOP nominee, so they subconsciously search for reasons to dislike him.

There was actually an interesting study out on this last month.  They did brainscans of political partisans and found that stories on neutral political topics went to the analytical center of the brain, while ones on partisan topics went to the emotive center.

It's not surprising (it's obvious and I'm dumb for posting about it Tongue), but there's a whole lot of that around here.
