Hagel and McCain won’t fight one another; I think McCain will just run again for the senate, to be fair he’s too old to run again.

Santorum may run, try and run a campaign with the GOP similar to that of Dean within the DNC, that said I think Santorum is a far clever politician than Dean and a better tv performer.

Owens, may well run however his recently martial problems could hurt him, that apart he would be a strong candidate.

Giuliani could run, but his health, his position on abortion and some elements of his past could count against him.

Pataki, looks to be thinking about running, during the convention he met with the NH delegation and its leaders on a number of occasions (as did Rudy).

Frist could run but his dour demeanour and dull speaking style would really hurt him and mean that in all likelihood he would lose.

Allen might run, however it is very possible that Mark Warner will challenge him in 2006 and such a race would be very tough for Allen, not impossible, but tough.

McCain and Hagel would never run against each other.

It'd be very tough for Mark Warner, and I seriously doubt he could pull it off. He was lucky to win the gubernatorial race here.

With major reservations I would vote for Guliani. He is far to moderate for my tastes.

Philip, Ben, there's a vote for Supreme Secretariet of Virginia taking place right now. Feel free to come over and cast your vote

Why do you have a protest warrior graphic?  Do you ever read the posts at that board?  they're the most hateful group of 'people' I have ever seen.

Santorum and Frist are my top two choices however if I was voting in a Presidential primary and neither of them were actually running, I wouldn't waste my vote by writing them in. Of the choices listed: Rudy.

I'd like to say Chuck Grassley, but he will be too old and has no ambition to be president.

I would support Bill Frist in 2008.

Frist would be bad choice, far far too wooden, the same reason that I fear that Bayh could never win the presidency, that said Frist wouldn’t be a disaster for the GOP but in places like OH, WV, NH, NV, MO he would probably be unable to win against a capable and articulate democratic candidate.

Best Hopes for the GOP would be Owens and Hagel, perhaps Lamar Alexander (but he’s really getting a bit old, same reason that McCain probably wouldn’t run).

The Democrats best bet would be Mark Warner if he can defeat Allen in 2006 or perhaps Edwards, that said if Blanche Lincoln ran I would be really torn between her and Warner.

I disagree. I was watching him on C-Span giving a speech at the convention and he was very energetic. We all know the Frist who gives a press conference as the Maj. leader and, well, you can't be the most entertaining person at that time. However, it seems like when it comes to campaigning, he really gets into it.
