While he's no Wellstone, I'm confident that Franken will make a great Senator. Much better than Coleman.

Perhaps Franken can win after all. It's too bad we don't have a more powerful candidate here. Coleman is proving himself quite vulnerable

I find it odd that Ciresi is over 10% behind Coleman - he has done better than Franken in every other preceding poll.  I am beginning to think Franken will be the DFL nominee now.

Ciresi's hardly a top-notch candidate himself.  Could be a lack of name recognition, perhaps?  (I'm not from MN, I wouldn't know)

Very encouraging poll, and we've seen one or two others where Franken is essentially tied with Coleman as well.

He hasn't ran much of a campaign honestly, while Franken has. Ciresi's campaign has basically consisted of a handful of newspaper ads.

This will probably be the most interesting Senate race of the year.

Any particular reason why younger voters trend Coleman and older voters trend Franken?

Because the MoE for those subsamples is gigantic.

...though the obvious joke is that younger voters are more likely to actually know anything about Franken than older ones.

A pathetic and unfunny joke, but still more amusing than c.98% of Franken's output...
