On second thought, Romney raised 27% more, and it's a closed primary.  Thus, Romney at 40%.

Which might have mattered had Romney won Florida.

He outraised McCain in the major cities.  And this isn't me just hoping Romney will win.  I don't think he will - I've given up hope, but this is what makes logical sense to me.

That's not what I meant; Romney would have gotten an additional boost into Feb 5 from Maine had he won Florida. Now, it's just irrelevant and ignored. I, too, think Romney has a good shot at winning Maine.

OK, what about Ron Paul.  It's a closed cuacus, but Indys can come in the day of and register.  It's spread out over 3 days.

Ron Paul's not going to get anywhere. No better than Nevada, probably worse. I would guess 5%.

AP put out a story saying he could win and that he's the most active in the state.

New England is McCain Country.  Ironic, no?

McCain takes this one easily, I predict.

As someone resident in the state part-time, it depends on the demoralization of the Romney organization post-Florida. Three days ago they would have won it easily, as McCain has zero presence in the state, and his nominal state director is deeply distrusted, by well, almost everyone.

Can someone explain this caucus?  I read somewhere that it takes place on multiple days but not sure how accurate that site is.  Also do the delegates count because I can find almost no media focus on this so I had assumed it was being penalized or something.

It's Friday through Sunday, but I don't know how many delegates.

Maine is the only New England state McCain didn't win in 2000 IIRC.

Romney wins, the last poll out around 6000 years ago showed Romney leading IIRC.

Freeport went on Wednesday, some caucuses are meeting today, the majority are meeting tomorrow, and 3 are meeting on Sunday.

So results will probably be available post-Superbowl.

Apparently, Ron Paulites have swarmed all over Maine, and in this story, University of Maine political science professor Mark Brewer actually says:
