He'd be more likely to than any of the other top candidates. That said, I don't think so.

Chance of bombing Iran: 40%
Chance of invading Iran: 15%

Still significantly higher than any other candidate.

Will all of you stop your histarics already. John McCain isn't delusional he knows that he needs to project himself as being full of sound and fury at the "evildoers" during the primary. He also knows, as a military man, that the current military is horribly stretched and that you cannot keep some sort of calm in Iraq whilst also going after Iran. While you can denigrate Senator McCain on his understanding of economic policy, which he admits isn't his strong suit, he does know a lot about foreign policy and the reality of America's current position in the world. While he may continue to make threatening sounds towards Iran during the campaign he would know that it is neither in America's interest nor within it's abilities to attack Iran in any meaningful way.

I am more worried about The Decider starting a war with Iran than McCain.  Especially if Democrats win the general election.  See my post in the other Iran thread...

There is less than a 1% chance that McCain will launch any publicized military action in Iran unless Iran attacks US soldiers or citizens.  I'm sure that some sort of covert operation would definitely be on the table though.

Lol. I think Colin and Padfoot sums it up nicely. McCain may be hawkish but he's not an idiot. He realizes full well that an attack on Iran would be stupid. Besides, I think everyone learnt some lessons from the Iraq war.
