BBC reports the trade unions have been saddled up to be whipped into shape for Master Brown, as well as a possible Basra troop drawdown.

Eh? Eh? Election?

Maybe Wink. Some good things came into effect yesterday. Increases in both the minimum wage (across the board) and paid leave entitlements. Yes, rest assured Labour will continue to stand for freedom - the freedom from exploitation, that is. Of course, much can only be done incrementally

As for Iraq, yet another strike for freedom (heck, I'm sounding like 'Winny' Bush), I'm now minded to think that we've done as much as can be done in Basra

Browns published announcements (many have been moved forward a wee or two) makes many think he wants to clear the decks for Tuesday. It does mean that some old bills will not be carried forward and will effectively 'die' but I don't think it concerns him much.
