Hillary Rodham Clinton will win the 2008 Democratic Nomination. She has practically got the nomination wrapped up all ready. If Mark Warner and Al Gore were in the race, she'd be fighting for her political life, however considering they aren't in the race, there's no stopping Hillary towards the Dem's Convention in Denver.

What the heck would Mark Warner be able to do against her?

At one stage, Warner was leading in the polls against Hillary by 17%. When Hillary was tied equal second with Russ Feingold. Who know's if Warner could have pulled it off, that's a question of what if.

I don't recall seeing any polls like that.

I think he's referring to when I made these polls asking people who they thought the Dem nom. would be back in May 2006.

Oh.. well our polls here are certainly interesting but they obviously don't represent America at large very well at all.

For all intents and purposes the race for the Democratic nomination is over.

The race for the 2008 Democratic nomination was cast in stone when Kerry lost in 2004.

For all practical purposes, Clinton is the nominee.  She picks Bayh for VP.

Call me optimistic, but I'm still not entirely convinced that Hillary Clinton is a shoe-in to win the nomination.

As for who I think will get it, I think it is too close to call. If I had to guess, then I think John Edwards could ultimately win in.

i believe the only thing that can stop her is some big reveal of some scandal or some huge gaffe. Edwards doesnt have the cash, and I think people will calculate that Obama doesnt have the experience or ability to win the general.

...looking over the early poll results made me miss Mark Warner. Still cant figure out why he didnt run...especially now that he is running for Senate. Obama may not have even got in if he was in and doing well early on. I think he would be a two person race right now between him and Hillary...with Hillary possibly gravitating more left to counter Warner

Possibly. But I don't rule out possibility then when it comes time to vote, a lot of Democrats will start to have cold feet at the prospect of nominating a woman or black man because of the question of electability. Which of course leaves Edwards. To be honest, I think he is probably the most electable out of all the Democrats running for President. And I agree that Mark Warner should've stayed in the race.

you know...this is going to sound awful...but I dont think people think of hillary as a woman. She is like Thatcher now...she has more balls than most male politicians. Plus there is the fact that people see voting for Hillary as really voting for 'Billary'

I like Warner too (for the most part) but lets get serious, he would have had no chance against the Clinton machine.
