I've been a bit lax in starting up the primary process this time, my apologies. Anyway, the National Liberal Coalition will again be holding a national primary of its members, scheduled tentatively for January 24-28. In this thread, candidates wishing to be on the ballot for the NLC's primary and endorsement should put forward their names; President-Vice President tickets will be voted upon.

The primary will be conducted by IRV and will operate the same way as the national Presidential election. All registered members of the NLC registered with the party or one of its affiliates by January 20 will be eligible to participate. I will publish a list of eligible voters on that date.

I wish to put the Jas/Moderate ticket forward for the NLC's endorsement.

I believe I share a great deal with the NLC's ideals and goals. I have served for 2 terms under a President who is a member of this fine party and stand currently with Mr. Moderate, also an upstanding member of the NLC. I hope that the party will offer the Jas/Moderate ticket it's consideration and, of course, any questions the party membership has would be welcome.

Mr. Chairman,

Write In candidates are acceptable too aren't they? Just wondering that is all.

I may be somewhat biased, but I fully support this exciting and dynamic Jas/Moderate ticket!

Yes, Write-in votes will be counted, so a successful write-in campaign is theoretically possible.

Thank you, Jas and Mr. Moderate, for having your names placed on the ballot. Good luck to you as well.

The Polnut/Sensei ticket will also seek the nomination of the NLC.

We believe that the members of the NLC deserve a choice, while the outcome does seem a given, we still believe that in many ways we share many values of the NLC.

Mr. Chairman,

The National Liberal Coalition doesn't have a delegating system whatsoever does it? I believe if the NLC had such a system, it would make it more competitive than just winning votes to get the parties endorsement. That's my own view anyway.

I strongly dislike the idea of unnecessarily complicating the mechanism by which nominees are chosen, and truly that is all delegates would accomplish. In any case, membership within the NLC is small enough that delegates would be extremely few, few enough for a wildly skewed result from the actual will of the people.

Yes, I completely agree with Senator Verily, the NLC is just not large enough to have a nominating structure of that sort. It would also the immense possibility of horribly skewing the results, delegate wise, due to the concentration of NLC members in the Northeast. Also I have always liked the idea of a straight vote on the issue of nomination by party members over the, in my opinion, backwards and provincial "primary" system.

So much for that idea. Oh well. As long as that's what the NLC wants then I'll be happy Smiley.
