Both tickets seems totally unelectable but what if no third party rises to challenge them. Who wins?

I’d vote Gravel . He’s arguably insane, but I don’t even want to imagine a Tancredo presidency. i'm really not sure who would win though.

Oh the humanity. I would probably vote in for Lincoln Chafee as a write in. However, if I was forced to vote for either Tom Tancredo or Mike Gravel, Mike Gravel would EASILY get my vote. As Reluctant Republican said, I don't even want to imagine a Tancredo Presidency.

Realistically, I think Tancredo might win. Tancredo would get most of hardcore Republican base, while a lot of Democrats might be put off by Gravel's tax plans, his age, his dovishness, what have you. And then independent turnout is incredibly low.

Why would Democrats be put off by his dovishness?

I remember him speaking in one debate about how nuclear weapons should always be off the table, no matter what, which the media would grill him on quite a bit (as we've seen with Obama). Though, on the other hand, Tancredo has called for nuking Mecca, so... Tongue

Mike Gravel would have to run against Jose Padilla to have a chance.
