Post maps of fictional outcomes of international elections! Figured it should be quite fun and amusing.

At one point following the county council elections in 1993, it was suggested that only the high ranking members of the Conservative cabinet would survive a general election. In the gallery I have also maps showing the effect of the petrol crisis on the 1997 result, and the aftermath of Brent East.

That's what I guessed too but he should have used the green colour, which is actually for the Nats, just to make it clearer.

I don't like using green for the SNP as well as Plaid Cymru (call it a hangover from Election 1983 when the SNP were coloured in purple)

Neither do I. Purple is okay; many in the Scottish media use a light purple/heather colour. I personally use a light blue, the same colour as the Scottish flag - it sits well with the other 3 party colours. Yellow is too close to the Lib Dems and green is not an SNP colour; it's always been associated with Plaid..who have now decided they want to adopt yellow :/

FTR the flag of Scotland is this colour (and we have it in official statute now);

It is not Union Jack blue; that colour creeped in thanks to cheap flag makers just reusing the dark blue used in most flags Smiley

Plaid may well have adopted a type of yellow as their party colour but no body seems to have told the BBC

BBC Ten O'Clock News:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=D8sPvOLpeo8 Plaid in green
BBC Vote 2007: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LqesAcGfdTw Plaid in green
BBC Wales and S4C Election 2007: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Cxy47KWo9yw Plaid in green

(and if anyone should have known about the Plaid change of colours it should have been the Welsh broadcasters!)
