That's not the reason. It's because such places tend to be cheap, and close to things I like. Anyone but gporter should be able to see which I would enjoy more: A cheap and run down blighted apartment one block from a strip club, or a huge McMansion way out in the outer suburbs.

Did you ever take into account that I'm not rich either?
