Without hindsight, Obama. With hindsight, Biden.

Without hindsight, Obama. With hindsight, Biden.

However, I think Biden would have been a different president 2009-17 than he is today. His tenure as vice president and Trump's subsquent elected certainly shaped his current tenure more than anything else. He still would have been an outstanding leader then and far more skilled than Obama when it comes to governing and foreign policy decisions.

I agree Biden would be different, and it's not coming from a dislike of Obama. I probably think more highly of him than others, but Obama was just too early.

I was too young at the time but I supported Hillary Clinton, if I could go back I would still support Hillary Clinton

Unlike many of the others in this thread who are very down on what became of the Obama presidency, I'm pretty satisfied with what we accomplished especially in his first two years in office.  Recovery from the Great Recession, various legislative victories including Obamacare, ending the Iraq War and cleaning up the corruption of the W administration were all huge important things that Obama got done.

That said, with hindsight I would probably go with Hillary, so Obama could save his powder for 2016, when we need him to defeat Trump.  I think Hillary would have been able to beat Romney in 2012 but even if she didn't, Obama got so little accomplished from 2012-16 that replacing his second term with a Romney presidency wouldn't be the worst thing, especially given that he would block Trump from running in 2016.

Would far rather have a Hillary 08-12, Romney 12-16, Obama 16-24 timeline than what we got.

Who says Romney loses re-election though.

Strongly supported Obama over Hillary as a teen because the latter was too establishment.

Without hindsight, Obama.

With hindsight, Hillary Clinton - in retrospect Clinton was more suited for the political moment than Obama.

She lost because she absolutely was not more suited for the moment. America was tired of the same old crap after the Bush years and Obama was an optimistic, young candidate that people saw as the future. It was his moment.
