As left-leaning voters question Biden's age and leadership, a problem Trump doesn't face with his core voters, the 59-year-old Harris is taking on more heated topics, more often and more directly than Biden. While some have knocked Harris's performance as vice president and value to the reelection campaign in the past, she's moved into a starring role.

The article describes Harris as going further than Biden both in terms of how she talks about substantive issues (especially abortion and Israel/Palestine) and in being more in tune with parts of the Democratic coalition with whom Biden is struggling.

In addition to the appearances at Selma and Planned Parenthood described in this article, last week Harris did a big interview for one of the Sunday morning shows (it was the first one I had noticed in a while, not sure whether she's done others).

The article emphasizes that this doesn't represent a rift with Biden, but is more a matter of Harris being the administration's preferred messenger on "divisive cultural issues":

Quote
She has an increasingly vocal fan in Biden, though, who once wrestled with the decision of whether to make her his running mate in 2020. Harris has worked carefully to make sure that she doesn't appear out of sync with her boss, describing Biden and her on March 4 as "aligned and consistent from the very beginning" on Gaza.

"I love her," Biden said, unprompted, of Harris of Feb. 6. She's "doing an incredible job," he added on March 18.

Nothing no one didn't already know, though if she's doing a good job in this regard, this'll put her back to what she was as DA as opposed to the clout-chaser Senator.

None of her "move to the left" will solve her public speaking/charisma problem. Sorry but she is just not blessed with the natural talent you want in a POTUS.
