One theory I've been thinking is the sheer uncompetitiveness of this could be bad news for Ilhan Omar, because it means Republicans have no real reason to not crossover vote in the D primary. At least in 2022 there was the competitive Attorney General primary which was the statewide race they had the best chance of winning but was understood almost certainly wouldn't if they nominated Wardlow again. There was almost 4x as many votes cast in the Republican primary for MN-05 than Omar's margin of victory.
