I inherited my mother's Anglophilia more than my father's Germanophilia. France has the nicest areas (likes sunshine and mountains near the sea). I voted UK.

The UK is a social, cultural and moral black hole. Germany and France both have their pros and cons, and while on "objective" metrics Germany probably wins, France still accords better with my sensibilities.

That's an absurd thing to say about the UK, sorry. Moral and social I'll grant, especially after fourteen years of Tory rule, but this is a country remarkable among other things for its degree of internal cultural diversity despite its small size and traditionally very centralized government.

I did vote for France, though. I have the most personal familiarity with it at this point.

Just for fun: Germany is the most admirable nation of them, very industrious and forward-thinking. The natural heart of Europe IMO, and it's a shame that that national identity was harnessed in the worst way possible for "blood and soil" historically. My white side is mostly English and Scottish, but I don't really identify with it that much and I don't care for the UK's particularly stodgy, conservative, provincialist tendencies. France is sort of alien to me, they seem to have a lot of undisciplined fanatics on all sides and I don't really go for that either.

As I said, Germany.

It's the most centralized of the 3.

If you disagree with me, you are wrong.

Just sayin'

The French Police Union declared war on "tyranny of minorities, these savage hordes," as an example of the xenophobia.

This is the translation:

"Now that's enough...

Facing these savage hordes, asking for calm is no longer enough, it must be imposed!

Restoring the republican order and putting the apprehended beyond the capacity to harm should be the only political signals to give.

In the face of such exactions, the police family must stand together.

Our colleagues, like the majority of citizens, can no longer bear the tyranny of these violent minorities.

The time is not for union action, but for combat against these "pests". Surrendering, capitulating, and pleasing them by laying down arms are not the solutions in light of the gravity of the situation.

All means must be put in place to restore the rule of law as quickly as possible.

Once restored, we already know that we will relive this mess that we have been enduring for decades.

For these reasons, Alliance Police Nationale and UNSA Police will take their responsibilities and warn the government from now on that at the end, we will be in action and without concrete measures for the legal protection of the Police, an appropriate penal response, significant means provided, the police will judge the extent of the consideration given.

Today the police are in combat because we are at war. Tomorrow we will be in resistance and the government will have to become aware of it."

You can just link to your previous post elsewhere. Posting the same thing multiple times is spamming regardless of what board it happens in.

That's ugly, and not something people would read, a link to another post and not saying what it is? That's just bad posting etiquette.

I made 1 thread. And I mentioned it in 2 other threads, in different forums.

I'm well aware of your climate preferences (obviously), but I'm still a bit surprised that an American with your foreign policy views would pick France.

Eh, politics usually plays hardly any role when it comes to my vote in these types of polls.
