A tough 2008 U.S. Senate race may be brewing in Kentucky.

Democratic Attorney General Greg Stumbo says he's being encouraged and is considering challenging Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.

Stumbo says he'll know in the next month or two whether he's going to make the race against McConnell who would be seeking his fifth term in Washington.

Stumbo's comments came during today's taping of 'Kentucky Newsmakers' which airs tomorrow morning at eleven on WKYT.

Stumbo won with just 48% last time against a weak Republican.  His Patton-like personal life is not going to go away.

Well for once your contribution to a thread is more than a snipe!  Congratulations!  What you say is revealing - but even if Stumbo can get 48% against McConnell (which I admit is unlikely) I'll be pleased.

The main problem with Stumbo is his personal life, yes (he was once sued for child support IIRC). But not a pisspoor candidate by any means (though he's not exactly a great one either...)

(o/c Stumbo would have polled more than 48% had not a certain Gatewood fella not run as an Indie and taken 10%).

If Stumbo runs against McConnell, I think you can pretty much kiss Mitch the Glitch goodbye.

Mitch the Glitch? What the hell does that...oh nevermind.

Anyway, what do you say, Bandit? Stumbo - 75%   McConnell - 25%?

Or do you have something even more ridiculous than that up your sleeve?
