Now, take this whole thing with a grain of salt, but I might have some sort of inside information regarding the Democratic presidential nomination.  This comes from a friend of mine who is a secretary for Johnny Cope, who is the chief fundraiser for the Richardson for President campaign.  According to a phone conversation I had with her just now, she was talking to Johnny about Richardson's low poll numbers and weak showing at the first debate and, according to Cope, Richardson has not sounded concerned in conversations at all about his performance so far and I quote told Cope "I'm going to make it to the White House no matter what." At first, her and Cope thought this to maybe just be some overconfident BS to keep a fundraiser happy, but there is now something to speculate after last night's debate; mainly how Hillary Clinton mentioned Richardson many times in her responses, all positive, while Richardson in turn gave a lot of good credit back to her while knocking all the other candidates experience.

Could Richardson have a deal in place be the VP if she gets the nomination?

I'd bet decent money that he will be the VP pick if Hillary wins the nomination.

Richardson's entire place in this race just screams "Vice President nominee".

The problem is, one of the few things that a VP nominee has to be able to do well in the campaign is debate.  Richardson doesn't seem to be pulling off that part of the audition very well.

Either he, Vilsack or Bayh will be her VP if she wins the nomination.

I know this Richardson supporter won't be voting for Hillary even if he is her running mate.  I highly doubt I'll have to deal with that issue though.  If Hillary is the nominee I expect her to pick Vilsack as her VP.  I think Richardson would rather be governor of New Mexico than VP.  He is more likely to take a cabinet position or ambassador nomination once his term is up.

I think it will be either Clinton/Richardson or Clinton/Vilsack. Warner, Bayh, and Webb all seem like longshot Veeps.

Maybe Hillary's told him he'll be the VP, but I don't think she'll actually select him.

With Obama? It seems like all the major Dems in VA are supporting him or leaning strongly towards doing so.
