Obviously it was justified, but the people who came up with it should have really seen how easy a lay up "Just Cuz" was.

Surprising that an invasion that was condemned 75-20 in the UN is getting 89% approval on here.

Well, the aftermath was Panama was democratized and its new U.S. written constitution abolished the military.

Yup, because Noriega was a vile cretin responsible for thousands of deaths in Panama and beyond.

Pass

It belongs to the "end of cold war" cleanup operations, along with the end of Apartheid, the Oslo Peace process, the winding down of various dictatorships, terrorist groups, shady banks, central american drug lords, ect.

Hollywood's take was "Clear and Present Danger", in which they heavily implied Bush Snr was very naughty.

Surprising that an invasion that was condemned 75-20 in the UN is getting 89% approval on here.

But was massively supported by the Panamanian people, depending on if you believe the polling at the time.

" According to a CBS poll, 92% of Panamanian adults supported the U.S. incursion, and 76% wished that U.S. forces had invaded in October during the coup.[150] Activist Barbara Trent disputed this finding, saying in a 1992 Academy Award-winning documentary The Panama Deception that the Panamanian surveys were completed in wealthy, English-speaking neighborhoods in Panama City, among Panamanians most likely to support U.S. actions.[151] Human Rights Watch described the reaction of the civilian population to the invasion as "generally sympathetic".[152]"
