Atlasian Public Opinion Institute

APOI conducted two polls covering the 2007 Presidential election, one used IRV (which is used in the election) and the other a simple on-forum poll.



Poll One: IRV Polling
As of now, 14 voters have been surveyed. These numbers may change as more members are surveyed or participate. This reflects as of May 19, 2007.

Round One
BrandonH/Wildcard :: 5 (35.7%)
The General/Speed of Sound :: 4 (28.6%)
Colin Wixted :: 2 (14.3%)
Joe Republic :: 2 (14.3%)
Texasgurl :: 1 (7.1%)

Texasgurl is eliminated (+1 for The General Speed of Sound)

Round Two
BrandonH/Wildcard :: 5 (35.7%)
The General/Speed of Sound :: 5 (35.7%)
Colin Wixted :: 2 (14.3%)
Joe Republic :: 2 (14.3%)

Joe Republic is eliminated (+1 for Colin Wixted)

Round Three
BrandonH/Wildcard :: 5 (35.7%)
The General/Speed of Sound :: 5 (35.7%)
Colin Wixted :: 4 (28.6%)

Joe Republic is eliminated (+4 for The General/Speed of Sound)

Round Four
The General/Speed of Sound :: 9 (64.3%)
BrandonH/Wildcard :: 5 (35.7%)

The General/Speed of Sound is elected

In 4 days, 25 voters were surveyed

Just a tip for you.

Don't release the results until you have at least 30 participants, otherwise the polls are worthless and about as realistic as those polls that John Engle made up. If you let them go to around 30 or 35 voters than they at least become premium quality toilet paper.

Forum polling has never been of much use...it seems to me that it depends a lot on which centrist/centre-right/right candidate goes up against Preston in the final round. At least none of the top candidates are completely worthless this time around. Smiley
