What a bad bunch. I ended up voting for Sherrod Brown, but I probably like Paul Wellstone more in hindsight.

I'll have to go with Finegold for being the sole senator to oppose the Patriot Act but Wellstone & Donnelley were honorable mentions but for different reasons.

Feingold. A lot of these would have made good or reasonable presidential nominees.

And there’s one on there who I could have sworn DID make a good presidential nominee…

The first Democrat to win without winning Missouri or Arkansas, you mean?
I'm no Obama stan but he made up for it by winning Virginia+Indiana for the first time in over 40 years and managing to hold onto Ohio+Florida.

Evan Bayh is the obivous choice for me, since he's a conservative democrat who is very hawkish on foreign affairs.

I have a history of praising both Amy Klobuchar and Tammy Baldwin on specific issues as well.
