I voted MTG. Georgia isn't really trending Democratic that much; in 2022, the other statewide Republicans all won comfortably. For what it's worth, I don't understand why so many people here expect Kemp to run for Senate in 2026.

Given the age of Ossoff and Warnock, I think there’s a good chance Georgia won’t have a new Senator for a while.

There’s a chance Ossoff’s successor isn’t even born yet. If Ossoff stays around like Feinstein or Grassley then his successor almost definitely isn’t born yet.

I dont think Kemp will run. Similar to Sununu and Ducey. Executive minded Republicans who dont see much to offer by joining the circus that is the Republican congressional caucus. Its not sure bet he even beats Ossoff if he does run and will likely be a one term rental.

I think Kemp will run, but I think the rest of the GOP is underestimating Ossoff. Not even him really, but the federal lean of Georgia now. Not everyone that voted for Kemp for Governor is going to do it for Senate. I don’t know how I’d vote in that Senate matchup at this juncture. Depends on the route the GOP as a whole goes after 2024.

Rob Ferguson gets nominated in 2026.  Unsure whether he beats Ossoff or not.

Do you think it's the "federal lean of Georgia," or is it just the specific weaknesses of Trump and Walker (and the immediate post-Stop the Steal runoff turnout decline in Trumpy areas of the state)? Or is that yet to be seen?

Probably someone not on the radar currently.  I think Kemp goes for a Presidential run instead of a Senate campaign and he's probably Ossoff's strongest potential opponent.
