Interesting. Iowa is a good state for Scott. If/when the meatball rots away, he could be well positioned to become the new second-placer here. In general he's gonna have a very hard time getting from "everyone's second favorite" to real contender, but if he can do it anywhere it'll be in Iowa.

Interesting. Iowa is a good state for Scott. If/when the meatball rots away, he could be well positioned to become the new second-placer here. In general he's gonna have a very hard time getting from "everyone's second favorite" to real contender, but if he can do it anywhere it'll be in Iowa.

Tim Scott is a likeable guy, and he seems like he'd play very well in the more religious parts of the state, especially the Dutch Reformed NW.

And unlike the candidates who have historically done well in the deeply religious parts of Iowa, he's not repulsive to the more secular side of the party.
