Both houses of the NY state legislature have now passed a bill moving the state's primary to Feb. 5th (the same day as CA). Spitzer has promised to sign it.

On a related topic, Florida's House of Representatives has voted to move that state's primary to Jan. 29th (in defiance of DNC rules):

The state Senate is still considering what to do.  Word is, they're considering Feb. 5th or later, so it's unclear how the two houses will reconcile this.

This could help McCain if the current trends were to hold. He would win NH, SC, and FL all before Feb 5th!!! Cheesy

Okay, why don't we pass a law to move up the conventions to April and the election to July, and get Bush out of office in September.
