The Principality of the South v. The Op

Filed before the Atlasian Supreme Court.

Honorable Justices,

As Attorney General of the South, I, ChiefFireWaterMike, seek to charge former Fremont First Minister The Op for Rebellion and Terrorism.

Under the Criminal Law Act of 2016, Rebellion (an act of treason) is defined as the following

(a) Rebellion. This shall be defined as the use of armed forces to overthrow the government of Republic of Atlasia or the government of any of its constituent Regions.

Under the Criminal Law Act of 2016, Terrorism (also an act of treason) is defined as the following

(c) Terrorism. This shall be defined as the use or threat of use of force or violence by a person, persons or organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating civilians and/or the government of the Republic of Atlasia or the government of any of its constituent Regions.

The actions of Former Fremont First Minister the Op on May 16th constitute both Rebellion and Terrorism:

To protect the security of the Commonwealth of Fremont - the Fremont National guard shall be ordered to take these places in the South.

The state of Kansas
The Oklahoma Panhandle
The Texas Panhandle
The areas surrounding Lubbock and Odessa Texas.
Kansas City, Missouri
El Paso, Texas and surrounding areas

- Civilians will be encouraged to remain in their homes and to take shelter.
- Whenever border guards encounter military resistance of armed people, they'll be ordered to shoot to kill.
- These measures have to be taken to ensure the people of the occupied areas will be safe. They'll also provide further safety for citizens in Fremont.
- Any traitors will be shot.

Anti-nuke deterrence:
- Because of threats of usage of nuclear weapons in the region of Fremont, there will be a nuclear warning system. Whenever nukes are deployed and launched, those nukes will be intercepted and shot in mid-air, preferably over uninhabited / less habited areas in Southern areas.
- Whenever interception fails, warning system and alarms in major cities in Fremont will be activated and people in Fremont will be ordered to take shelter.
- In cities, the places to take shelter in will be underground metro stations/shelters whenever possible.
- The same systems will be activated whenever the Southern President plans to bombard cities in Fremont through other weaponry.

Aircraft

- Unidentified aircraft flying over Fremont territory will be shot down as well after the procedures for identification have been undertaken and there is a failure of identification.

1. Rebellion

Citing no lawful authority for such an action, the Op ordered armed forces (the Fremont National guard) to seize Southern territory to overthrow the government of the South, one of the constituent regions of Atlasia. Such an illegal invasion clearly constitutes an act of Rebellion.

To protect the security of the Commonwealth of Fremont - the Fremont National guard shall be ordered to take these places in the South.

2. Terrorism

In addition to ordering an illegal invasion, The Op engaged in Terrorism by authorizing border guards to "shoot to kill" and stating that "Any traitors will be shot."

This clearly constitutes the use of force or threat of use of force against persons with the intention of intimidating civilians and intimidating a constituent regional government of Republic of Atlasia. The purpose of this order was to dissuade any resistance to The Op's illegal invasion by threatening to murder anyone who resisted the illegal invasion.

- Civilians will be encouraged to remain in their homes and to take shelter.
- Whenever border guards encounter military resistance of armed people, they'll be ordered to shoot to kill.
- These measures have to be taken to ensure the people of the occupied areas will be safe. They'll also provide further safety for citizens in Fremont.
- Any traitors will be shot.
