Does the debt ceiling deal also prevent a government shutdown for the next 2 years?

Or do we still need to deal with that as a threat between now and the next presidential election?

The budget is a completely different thing. It comes up in December of this year I believe. The debt ceiling is how much the government can continue to borrow. The budget is what is allotted to the government departments and services. The budget requires debt to be taken on, which is the debt ceiling.

I know that, but when I was reading the details of this bill it seemed to have passed clear budgeting guidelines and policies for the next two years.

I've been expecting one in the fall ever since Republicans won the House.

It’s still a different act that has to be done. Those budgeting guidelines are to guide the eventual budget’s made over the next 2 years. Whether or not those budget’s are passed immediately when the time comes is up for the future to decide.

No, because Rs are gonna to add Work requirements in Food stamps in Appropriations bills and Fetterman said he is gonna Filibuster it, but Govt shutdown doesn't affect SSA it affects Govt employees that's why Rs signed into it, it's the Law to pay SSA checks

September 30 technically, though doing a CR for a while after that is pretty common.
