I actually like that hand sanitizer is still readily available in most public places. I get grossed out a bit easy so like to keep germ free.

Though during covid those would piss me off because I know very well, even as someone who is not scientific, that it was hygiene theatre and did little to nothing to stop covid.

The masks of course. That is why I enjoy so much more going to health care providers where they are still required. It's like an oasis in the desert on a hot day.

Social distancing--I don't want to deal with strangers, I just want to grill for God's sake!

I was actually just remarking the other day that I don't understand why masks weren't a thing before Covid. Even if I'm feeling a little under the weather, I'll wear one as a precaution. I agree about hand sanitizer as well; I keep some in my car and I still use it every time I get gas.

Please do not wear a mask. It is very important other people are exposed to the cold, flu, and covid to build immune systems.

No, I can actually say COVID brought 100% misery and that there was honestly nothing at all good about the damn plague.

I'm still wearing these masks every day and I'm sick of it.

Of course.

I do a lot more semi- and quasi- social distancing in non-intimate social settings. I don't touch my lips or nose in public, and if I do, I try to do so with my collar or shirt sleeve instead of my bare hands. I use hand sanitizer frequently (but not constantly) when working with the public. I like plexiglass partitions when it comes to customer service (both serving and being served).

For the rest of my life, I'll have a permanent dislike of people coughing into their hand(s) instead of their elbow. People that lick their fingers to handle money (and give it to others) should be fired out of a cannon, directly into the sun.

I suppose I like having a hybrid work arrangement, rather than being full-time in office.  But, I think we were probably eventually going that way, regardless.

People just kind of generally stand further apart in public places now. It's especially noticeable when waiting in lines. It's nice, I like my personal space. Smiley

I like the proliferation of Zoom and Skype meetings.  Business top, leggings and socks bottom.

Medicaid expansion (although that’s ending/already ended in a number of states)
Virtual options for a lot of events
Virtual work options for non-essential employees
People generally being more understanding about having to cancel plans/call out  if you’re feeling sick

As late as 2020, I worked in an industry that was still somewhat paper-based.  COVID pretty much killed that; nearly everything is electronic now.

Biggest one that comes to mind is the sudden proliferation of year-round outdoor dining. So many places now have sidewalk and "street" tables that didn't used to four years ago. And more generally, a lot of places are much more takeout friendly than they were before, which is nice as someone who lives and therefore usually eats alone.

When you go to McDonalds, the EFTPos is on a long flexible stick now that they can reach out and place in your car.

So when the guy or girl in front of you does not move their car up far enough to the point you can't reach the scanning machine, the teenager can reach out over 1m and get your payment scanned and the transaction is successful.

There is nothing worse than waiting for an open cash register, but the only reason you cannot reach it is because of the low intelligence and consideration of the customer in front of you.

Actually yeah, this was nice. But the keyword is "was" - they no longer have that where I live.

the normalcy of having places shop for you and then load your sh**t in your car, which kind of makes my next statement more bearable.

The one thing I miss from the before times is things being open 24 hours a day.  It was stupid during Covid to make sure everyone went to the store at the same time and it's still stupid.  Some of us like grocery shopping at 2am and would love to have a burger at 3:30am.

- More restaurants allowing takeout orders

- Greater acceptance of online work/education

- More people wearing masks in public as a choice. I don't see the negative of that, especially during flu & fire seasons
