If you haven't gotten the flu shot yet, get it now:

This is the best flu shot — by a huge margin — in over a decade

It makes sense, given COVID-19 killed a lot of existing strains, including one of the four subtypes, which enabled scientists to make a more effective shot against remaining circulating strains, given it was far more predictable than ever which strains would circulate.

The measures against covid maybe didn't work for covid, but they ironically helped a lot vs the flu back in the days.

<our Doomers take on this story (why can't I think of that one guy? our ultimate Chicken Little)>

Pediatric Flu death rates higher this winter than in previous two winters combined!

</Doomer>

as for me, I just hope they can combine next year's Flu and Covid shots into one needle.

It's funny though that this was the worst flu I ever had even having gotten the vaccine.

There will always be exceptions.  I got both the flu vaccine and my second COVID booster, and I have never gotten sick from either the flu or COVID -apart from that unrelated mild cold I got back in October.

I got the flu shot (from my doc's office) and the bivalent booster (from the local Osco) back in Oct. I've had no significant respiratory illness this season. Hopefully that holds for the rest of the season.

Same. I have never had the glue before this year since…probably 2016. Clearly this “amazing” shot didn’t help me this time lol.
