I obviously prefer the Canadian Tories now that they are returning to Harperism .

Also do this poll based on which party you’d rather see in power if you had to select one of them

You are the only person in human history who idolizes Stephen Harper.

I mean I like Thatcher better but the UK Tories pretty much have completely abandoned her legacy and have pretty much returned to becoming the party of “red toryism” once again . Boris pretty much other than brexit has been a complete disappointment and has taken the Tories way to much to the left

On the other hand the Tories in Canada basically have done the opposite and are moving back to the party of  Preston Manning and Stephen Harper instead of this “red Tory” bs Erin tried to reimplement.

Stephen Harper wasn't a loyal Reformer and left Parliament because of his disagreements with Manning and other Reformers and he nearly ran for leader of the Progressive Conservatives in 1998 after Jean Charest left federal politics.

Anyway, I voted for the Canadian Conservatives because people like Michael Chong are Canadian Tory MPs, and there aren't really "red Tories" like Chong in the British Tories.

Canadian conservatives basically have politicians  who are to the left of the UK Tories but have many prominent politicians who are to the right of them . Pierre Polliviere is probably to the right of any major UK politician and by a good deal as well

UK Tories have made themselves like the fraternity house that is always getting into trouble for the questionable things that happen later in their parties.

The UK Tories are better on the issues, and in particular they're a lot better on climate change.

UK Conservatives are relatively more "conservative", and since I have some "conservative" tendencies myself, I must prefer them in relative terms.

UK conservatives seem less right wing than the Canadian counterparts especially since they are moving away from the direction Erin took them in.

Canuck Tories, since they are effectively just right-wing Democrats, and a destabilized right-wing in this neoliberal dystopia is a godsend.

UK Tories meanwhile act like the GOP, and while I do respect how they stick together and are far less beholden to non-ideological-but-all-neoliberal donors, the direction taken is simply too far to the right, and of course Boris Johnson.
