California's GDP would collapse overnight if they left the USA

Trumpistan's GDP would collapse overnight if they succeeded from the USA (which includes California) to form a MAGA right wing utopia.

I hope California secedes. We can just turn off the water and then a full embargo/blockade. They'll all collapse in 2 weeks.
Interesting. Say more.

Idk Im crossed and listening to *NSYNC as usual

If California seceded the US would just turn off the tap for California. California would be crippled overnight and the US would save millions of gallons of water.

But Republicans told me that California is a disaster.

Yeah, people are fleeing California in droves. Just look at this map.

well, if you don't drive (tied for third worst state to be a driver in), or have some sort of relation with a public school (11th worse, congrats on beating AL,MS,WV,LA,SC,NM and all the states it touches except NV...my god the southwest sucks at education, I mean, we expect it out of the south, sheesh) or pay taxes (the worst by a fairly wide margin) it ain't so bad?  Of course it's the worst place to start a business in the US.  Maybe a disaster isn't the ride word, what word would you suggest?

Wait...

Certainly reports of the demise of California have been greatly exaggerated by the right. At the same time, a system where middle class American people have no prospects and the gains all flow to a small number of half foreign born CEOs and their foreign born workforce isn’t exactly something to admire.

According to Wikipedia, California's GDP is nearly 3.6 trillion and Germany is 4.1 trillion. That would require a major jump, wouldn't it?

Anyway, it helps the US' total GDP, and I hope China will never overtake that.

Silicon Valley really is an amazing place. Hopefully California can get its act together on housing affordability, homelessness, and the other problems it has faced. It seems that instead this will just be pointed to as a way to ignore the problems. I see the same thing in Chicago, which I’m much more familiar with.
Silicon Valley is America's most valuable asset in our dance with China. Silicon Valley is practically indispensible for America's long term future.

Yes for sure. We need to keep it going while finding a way for more Americans to benefit from its success.
Couldn't agree more.
Unfortunately that is up to the state governments; what I mean is, what California did right in the past was invest in the UC System of higher education; and scientific research as a whole; which really boosted the California's innovation pipeline. And we have Stanford of course.

The tax cuts only had a small part in California's success .

And in addition to Silicon Valley, we also have Aerospace, Hollywood, and the one of the largest government employers in the US, the California government.

We also have major trading ports as well.

Don't forget immigration. It's funny how all these economic powerhouse states like California, Texas, Florida, New York have a lot of immigration.

Not particularly surprising, California is practically running the Internet. Germany's largest IT company is... SAP.

California’s GDP per capita is twice that of the largest European economy, but remember, Americans are all so poor and backwards and extremist or something.

Germanys most important IT companies are Trumpf and Zeiss, suppliers to ASML, which supplies TSMC, which supplies Apple, Intel, AMD, which supply the entire Internet. So yeah, without Germany the entire Internet couldn't run and Moores law would be dead. You guys basically have the world by the balls but this fact is not well known.
