I assume that if the United Kingdom at some point abolishes monarchy, they would have to change the country's name as well. The short-lived republic in the 17th century was called the "Commonwealth", but nowadays that name is already associated with the Commonwealth of Nations. Maybe "United Republic"? Or just "Republic of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

It depends what the form of government is but personally I think they'd have to keep the GB and NI in the name.

United Republic. If Northern Ireland has left by that point, then just good old Republic of Great Britain. And if Scotland has also left then I suppose Republic of England, Republic of England&Wales or possibly even Republic of (Southern) Britain

I imagine the most likely would be "Union of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" and the short form name would be "Britain" or "Great Britain".

Ideally though we would abolish the monarchy and HoL, reunite with Ireland, federalize the country (18 provinces) and form the Commonwealth of the British Isles.

Then we would turn our gaze across the channel...

Northern Ireland and Scotland won't stay there forever. Republic of Britain, maybe eventually Republic of England and Wales.

It's never gonna be abolished Prince Charles, William and his kids so they have a whole lineage of Monarchs after Elizabeth after she dies

They don't have  but ceremony role anyways, PM is the Leader of the country

I like the 'Republic of Britain', or simply 'Britain'.

"Never" is a big word. Of course there are hundreds of people in the line of succession even if none of the princes and princesses had children. That's not the issue. The issue is how long will the British people abide with the royal theatre after the popular monarch has passed. A few more Prince Andrews, and the people's patience will wear out.
