I didn't know we were somehow still in 2016. Well, if we are, all I gotta say is RIP Harambe.

What was the goal of the mob on 1/6? To overturn the 2020 election results. To protest against systemic vote fixing (we're not afraid to call out systemic racism, why not call out this?)
Based on what? A false belief that it was rigged, despite having zero evidence. An unprecedented number of states changing election laws within mere months of election day.
What did they chant? To hang the Vice President. They even erected a gallows with which to do it. This is inappropriate but Mike Pence is a traitor to America and deserves zero sympathy.
Was the mob armed? Absolutely. Their assailants were armed with military-grade weaponry.
How many cops died as a result of the attack? 5 Zero police died directly from the largely-unarmed mob fighting back.
How many cops did the mob injure? I'm not sure, but several. Okay sure.
Did the mob break into the US Capitol building? Yes. Yes, so what
Was the mob looking for members of Congress to kill/kidnap/injure? Yes. The lives of government officials are not more valuable than the lives of the 75 million.

If this wasn't a domestic terror event, then I'm curious to know what else you might call it?

1/6 was a failure, but it could have been the greatest moment in American history since the Tea Party (in the 18th Century, not the dumb modern movement) had they been more organized.

The only terrorist on 1/6 was the stormtrooper who killed Ashli Babbitt.

You don’t actually believe this.

Okay, that's about what I thought.

You are a traitor to the United States.

Mods here should ban you.

I am noting for the record that though you may dislike the ideology and policy aspects, you would support in principle a lawless and possibly violent overthrow of the (Republican controlled) USA congress and White House to install a leftist dictator and end democracy.

Exactly. Wonder if he'll still be championing the coup attempt once Biden and Harris do what Trump and Pence couldn't.

(1) If I thought they won the election, yes.
(2) I have many sympathies for the left, so if it was a leftist president with unbridled power, I would support that as long as s/he opposes unelected institutions.

I mean I would've supported Gore doing the same thing in 2000. If I thought Biden or Harris won and were robbed I'd think they should take what is owed to them, by force.

Oh, and thank you for reminding me why I can't support Republicans ever again, no matter the candidate and no matter the office. I was actually starting to soften on some of them...even DeSantis. I have to believe a significant portion of the GOP electorate is just like you. Maybe not a majority, I don't know. But significant. And that spells trouble for the future of democracy.

No wonder you like Trump so much, he's just like you. God help us if we ever again elect someone who thinks the way you do.

How should Gore have responded in 2000?

I think Trump is okay. Largely a coward though. Not a fan of DeSantis but could vote for him.

I am warming up to Biden a bit since he has handled Afghanistan and the Ukraine well. He’s ignoring calls to put boots on the ground. I was an Obama voter so I could support his VP.

Because it’s bad form for conservatives to call what they now believe in terrorism. When attempting to Bible based fascist state wrapped in the flag, they don’t like to bring up Sharia law.
