I think if either Trump gets involved to attack McCarthy or a lot of the freedom caucus types start calling for another leader, then it's over for Kevin.
But if the GOP stays quiet for whatever reason and Trump gets over it, then I could see him getting through this.
50/50 imo.

Trump's reaction will be the biggest impact. If he says he doesn't want Kevin as leader, that's it. He's done. And they're on shaky terms already, Trump has snubbed multiple candidates Kevin lobbied him to endorse. He also doesn't like him in private. This could be a pretense for Trump to kick him to the curb.

I also think that a lot of Republicans could turn on him for him wishing for members of congress that he doesn't like to be banned off Twitter. That doesn't make it just a Trump thing anymore, its him attacking his own caucus and going against the party.

Is there a particular reason you're calling McCarthy by his first name? Haven't noticed you do it before really, but noticed it in this post (it's kind of amusing in a way).

UPDATE: To my unpleasant surprise, Trump is forgiving McCarthy for this transgression. McCarthy is likelier to be Speaker in 2023 now.

I agree, although Trump doesn't commit to supporting McCarthy for Speaker, saying it depends who's running.
If McCarthy is uncontested for speaker (not counting people who won't get any support like Gaetz or Greene), then he's fine. If someone serious like Jordan runs, then Trump may back them and McCarthy could be in trouble.

Jim Jordan is a clown and the fact that he's considered 'serious' in today's GOP is telling.

He will be challenged, but I'm pretty sure he'll win.

He's not in line to be Speaker Jeffries is we are putting the cart before the H, the D's if they win FL, or TX can still win the H, that's why Ds are heavily invested in FL to win more seats outside blue states and we don't know what's gonna happen in TX but DeSantis UNDERPERFORMED Gillum not Abbott UNDERPERFORMED Valdez

D's can overperform the Approvals just like Trump did, Trump broke the trend that said Prez party loses H seats with 44, he net gained seats in 22, the H is a longshot than the S but it's not GONE YET, DD HAVE AMBITIOUS TO KEEP THE H AND PASS DC STATEHOOD .
The only reason why Rs have become the Favs again because Sinema blocked Voting Rights and this Ukraine War but there are millions in poverty since they stopped the stimulus checks because D's wanted raise Corporate taxes to 27 percent last yr and Rs blocked it during Debt Ceiling

Lol, sooner or later D's are gonna be in control of the H and Corporate taxes will be raised they were 35 percent D's want to raise them to 27 percent and it won't choke jobs Obama had high Corporate taxes, they only were supposed to stay low during a Pandemic we are still in one but not like 2020 with 9 Percent unemployment
