He seemed to tease a Billy Long endorsement without officially endorsing him. Very strange considering Long is consistently in 4th place and can't poll double digits to save his life, meanwhile he throws Mo Brooks to the wolves despite Mo not being a super distant third place.

Eric Schmitt. Before the recent news, likely Greitens.

Yeah Trump’s Billy Long statement yesterday was odd, given he’s way behind in polling. Perhaps Trump likes Long the most, and this is his way of signaling that. But, he won’t formally “endorse” Long because he very well may lose.

Maybe Trump will officially stay neutral in this race?

Brooks was cratering south. He already had Trump's endorsement. It was his race to lose. If even with Trump's endorsement he somehow sank to 3rd place, he wasn't winning the primary anyway.

Long has not yet been endorsed by Trump and in fairness, he's been about stagnant. He's not collapsed in support like Brooks has. If Trump was to endorse Long, Long would do much better in the polling (better, I'm sure, than Brooks was at the time he was thrown "to the wolves").

It helps that the primary isn't until August, giving everyone plenty of time to go up and down.

To be fair those said "wolves" are probably the MAGA boomers now calling him a RINO (lol) because Trump withdrew his endorsement, but that's beside the point.

Well now that his time in public office is about done anyway, he shouldn't care what they think.
