The really interesting things about partisan institutions is that even partisans are torn about them being too moderate, too extreme, or pushing the "wrong" version of their ideology. You see that on the left with people like TYT, Jimmy Dore, and then, of course, there are establishment liberals that people don't like either who are mostly people on MSNBC.

There could still be some sort of democracy left in this country if this  period of polarization ends with one party dominating a landscape where a permanent working majority has become politically homogenized on the surface.
