https://www.wsj.com/articles/labor-shortage-missing-workers-jobs-pay-raises-economy-11634224519

The only jobs coming back are retail, warehouse and Nursing jobs

Then, states like Cali are Late sending out Golden State Stimulus which is gimmick because they said that they were gonna send out all the Late payments out Last WK, we gotten zero and they won't even answer the phone

No one wants a retail job anymore or warehouse job, they can fire you within 90 day Probation ANYWAYS and once you exhausted your Unemployment it takes six months to get more it's not SSa where you get it immediately

That's why Post office is Kate with your mail, it's labor Shortages

Delta and Covid due to Biden letting immigrants into the country before the virus was under control is responsible force to this, he should of waited til Covid was under control before nesty and he still stopped building the Wall

"they won't even answer the phone"*

LOL. When was the last time someone made a call other than to a significant other, a good friend, or an underling who sees your name when you call, and a live person answered?

The year is 1967. I call a buddy to find out if he has finished his homework and wants to get high. A tape recording machine "takes" the call, and this mechanical sound of quite poor quality instructs me to live a message. I am speechless. My God a machine has answered the phone! I am speechless for about 15 seconds (not even high yet), and finally manage to haltingly and intermittently to vocalize a few words and hang up in relief.

I had no idea that the lid to Pandora's box had just opened.  I had no idea that there were so many levels of Dante's hell either. I assure you it is more than 10. 10 is however getting to be close to the number of levels one needs to get to to even leave a message. Press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish. Now we have 8 more options, and no, pushing 0 wont work, nice try though. And then after you push 4, 5 more options for the next round, and on and on. And about a third of the time somehow you get disconnected. It seems to happen most when you chose I wish to terminate my contract option. So then you pick the I want more services option, and you get a live person for that, and they say, let me transfer you, and the transfer fails.

Pro tip. Never, ever, do a monthly auto-pay for anything, other than for an essential service like utilities.

*my God, a comprehensible string of words without a misspelling!  It must be a typo that it came out that way.

they're able to get people willing to work 40 hour weeks instead of 10 or 15 hours a week so we still have a severe oversupply of labor

i don't get where this talk about labor shortages comes from

At the local convenience store they are advertising $17 per hour, plus. Gas pumps and a food bar. Nice store. Any takers?

I have worked in jobs during Great Recession and they give you 60 hrs and then all of a sudden that they call you and say you are no longer needed of course if you are late or miss days off they can challenge your unemployment, but within a 90 day Probation period you don't qualify and especially 30 day Probation, most of us are coming off of Extended Unemployment means you have exhausted all your benefits

Meaning that Unemployment is actually a Savings account not SSA and it's not available in the pot to you if you quit or get fired in 90 days only after 180/210 days and it's now only 180 days to collect meaning you need to find work as soon as you can

I worked the same low skilled jobs that's being offered now, we need a Federal Jobs Guarentee or the cycle keeps going

My cuz was a step ahead of me and my Sister, not only does had Grandma had 600K from inheritance he went thru military and became a Lawyer because the military is excellent for Attorneys and give you contacts for jobs

Just like Latinos, they don't become successful by getting a corporate job, they become successful by Entrepreneurship, WC won't give Minorities any ground that's why 77% of homeless and Prison population are Blk or Latino men and 90% with single moms

Many Latinos live in Orange County because of Family businesses not Corporate jobs they don't work Factory they work for Boost mobile and phone companies

But, what do BLK celebs do, they don't build hotels or create their own talk show except Oprah they give it to white society

Cosby and Oprah and Phylusha Rashad are the only ones that got medals by Prez Cosby did, and Oprah was praised by Obama whom else Blk celeb got a medal of Freedom, NONE

The Labor shortages aren't gonna Last forever, but if we elect Rs it won't solve our problems, Afro Americans were the Last to get vaccinated because Trump was giving vaccines to most ethnic groups aside from Minorities, Biden and Harris made shelters give out vaccines starting in March ,2021 and Trump was slow to give out vaccines just like he was slow to respond to Pandemic

That's why it than a College Degree to get a job, but more people are gonna ask for Student Loans discharges, no Grants for Grad school

Alot of people like me are in Grad school than working a Mickey mouse job

People in Grad school take out loans for Tutoring they don't just get fat off of Student loans with ordering out food

Everyone has a College Degree, it takes Logic to get a Grad School Degree Nursing and being a Lawyer

Ah yes. Run that warehouse 24/7 with six crews getting 28 hours each, no overtime, no benefits, minimum wage. Cut everything down to the bone and “create” more “jobs” but actually just have precarious work

Federal Workers get paid too much and they won't unionize TSA to give everyone the chance to have that job, you take an x-ray test and you get called for it, it's not automatic I applied for that TSA job many times no return call

As many Govt jobs, you get called by a computer

But, if you are on SSDI you can volunteer not from your local shelter but you can volunteer for your Park District and try to get a good job, but since there is a Pandemic it's hard to get even those

It's not just Warehouse, it's retail, if there are not enough customers they send you home, but since the Pandemic you see females in those jobs

I don't know if TSA jobs are paid too much. It's a tough job dealing with the public like that. Most government jobs do pay well, I believe.

And I would add that nurses don't get paid enough. And the working conditions are tough. Many of them are quitting.
