Is Sinema simply covering for Manchin lowballing the bill? So that all the blame will not be on just Manchin? Or does she truly have concerns over the big spending bill?

She's not covering for Manchin, she's covering for probably a dozen other sane Democrats in the Senate who do not want this but cannot publicly say so.

Definitely the case for my senator Mark Warner and to a lesser extent Tim Kaine.

Let's stop pretending Sinema is anything but an attention-loving sellout.

I agree that the two of them are covering for quite a few centrists who don’t want to eliminate the filibuster.

No, I think she's actually more missguided and delusional than him.

It might be they're both covering for a much of others like Feinstein.

The simplest explanation, which is supported by her bizarre career trajectory, is that she's just a genuinely weird person whose motives are not for us to know. She would fit in great on Atlas Forum. Could probably get elected Senator in Atlasia.

I used to think that, except Biden and senate leadership have made it clear they have 48 senators and it’s only these two. Any opposition from Warner, Kaine, Coons, etc seem to have disappeared because they don’t want to go against their president/party leader.

Maybe Senators like Warner, Kaine, or Feinstein had gripes with the $ amount or certain provisions, but they would certainly not vote against it or hold it up like these two are doing. Manchin nor Sinema are covering for anyone except their donors and own cynical greedy actions.

In other words, if the vote were held today, all 48 Dems would vote yes.

She's attention-loving and she's likely a disappointment to many who voted for her, but I'm grateful for what she's doing now.

What makes her a "sellout"? (Well, other than the fact that she is literally bought by corporate money, but this applies to nearly everyone in Washington.)

She ran as a centrist, and is governing as a centrist. She was a conservative blue dog dem when she was in the House. You get what you vote for.

This is what I think. Both of them are in the pockets of big money and those pockets are telling Sinema and Manchin to jump, and they are asking how high?

I don't think people like these two really care about anyone else.

If they are being "cautious", they are on the extreme end of the scale and should not be listened to, in my view. They are way out of step with the majority opinion.

I can't really say. Sinema might just be more of an an enigma than Trump. Hell, Olawakandi might not be as mysterious as her and her motives.
