Well, Ritter will win and not only that but I hope a strong Ritter win takes a couple of Republican scalps down the ballot Smiley. Whether, or not,  it will be strong enough to take out her who had a house fall on her sister, I don't know. But it's a happy thought Smiley

Colorado seems to be changing Smiley largely as a result of Republican excesses

With all three of the contested House races in Colorado all now very tight in the polls, there is a small chance that after the election Democrats could control 6/7 of Colorado's Congressional seats. How frickin' awesome would that be?

It sure would be awesome Smiley. Then its all eyes on 2008 and Wayne Allard's Senate seat. He, too, seems to be increasingly out of touch with his increasingly moderate Smiley state. We'll see just how moderate Colorado has become pretty soon

I am really surprised that this is turning out to be a potential landslide. Anybody know why? Is Beauprez a really bad candidate?

Anyway, I am really happy that Colorado is turning blue. There are also 2-3 potential pickups in House races for Democrats as well.

Supposedly, according to every single political expert I have read, Beauprez was the BEST candidate the Colorado GOP had for this race. My guess is it's combo of four things -

1) Ritter is very moderate.
2) Ritter is receiving strong support from the usually GOP-friendly business community due mostly to Beauprez's position on Referendum C.
3) Beauprez has effectively been tied to Bush/Iraq.
4) The large immigrant population in Colorado that flexed it's muscle by electing Ken Salazar is not happy about Beauprez's hardline stance on immigration.

Makes you wonder how badly Tom Tancredo would be slaughtered if he was Ritter's opponent, huh?

Wayne Allard is not merely out-of-touch, he is batsh**t insane. Plus, Mark Udall is one of my favorite Congressman. I REALLY hope he captures the seat in '08.
