If Cawthorn has committed a crime, let the victims come forth and make police reports.

If Cawthorn is a snotty frat boy, let the voters decide if they wish to re-elect him.

I will say this:  Cawthorn is a pretty shallow choice for the future "Face of the GOP".  He's never finished anything and has never had a real job, aside from being Meadows' aide.  He's kind of like the new Mac Sweeney, a Congressman from Texas who won in 1984, defeating Wright Patman's son.  Sweeney had puffed up credentials as he had a staff position in the Reagan White House but no one knows what he actually did behind his title.  (Sweeney's career, post-Congress, while vintage Swamp Lobbyist stuff, is more substantive than what he did prior to being elected.)  Cawthorn wasn't much of a student and he wasn't much of anything else.  I'm not looking for lawyer-lobbyist types to enter Congress, but I'd like someone who's actually done something.

He seems to have been a more or less typical frat boy type in college. Not congressional material, in my opinion, especially given his lack of other virtues, but in this age of hyper-partisanship, he'll probably win re-election.

The WaPo details how Cawthorn has lied about his accident too

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/02/27/making-madison-cawthorn-how-falsehoods-helped-propel-career-new-pro-trump-star-far-right/?arc404=true

Obviously, he's a pathological liar, but Republicans seem to like that.

There will be no justice in the world if this man ends up serving in Congress for the next several decades. And I find it interesting that the former Sheriff of Henderson County, who helped Cawthorn win the primary, is now regretting his support for him, now that he sees Cawthorn for what he truly is.

Some more stuff. As a man myself, I'm really embarrassed that many behave this way.

I’ll ditch him in exchange for y’all forcing Cuomo out

You do realize the red avs of this forum hate Cuomo with a passion right?
He’s probably one of the least popular people on the site. This isn’t a gotcha.

I don’t care about basement-dwelling, neckbearded “red avs.”  I want Biden and Schumer to start calling for Cuomo’s resignation
Ah, okay. Del Taco gonna Del Taco.

It's Del Waffle now.

He is great at performative nonsense, which makes him solid congressional material these days.

Wonder what the difference electoral results-wise between him and Watkins will be next cycle.

Considering his district has a PVI of R+14, about the worst he can get is a successful primary challenge.

Thats the PVI for the old district without Asheville, right now its still pretty Safe R but only like Trump +12 compared to the old one being Trump +25.

Oh yea I forgot NC’s getting redistricted because of the new district being added. We’ll see now that goes.

No I mean the current map isn't R+17, its only like R+9 or R+10. The Wikipedia page is wrong.
NC getting another congressional district will also make Buncombe more of the district and make it easier sometime in the future in some scenarios.

Who are all the Republicans in the picture. In addition to Cawthorn, I can see Taylor-Greene, Boebert, Mast (?), and Massie. I'm not sure about the others.

I also spot Beth Van Duyne, Bob Good (?), and Mary Miller.

Van Duyne is a Republican in a Biden district who nevertheless votes and acts like she is from a R+50 district. But then again, Texas Republicans will draw her a more favorable district in redistricting that would have been carried by Trump, and virtually all House Republicans vote as if they represent the darkest of Republican territory.
